What are some best practices for creating banners/image ads?

  • Banners can either be used to display a specific product or to showcase the general range of products for sale by your brand. Images should therefore be representative of what is for sale or being promoted, and should use high quality photographs.
  • Branding such as the inclusion of a logo within the image is advised.
  • Image ads will be clickable when an affiliate uses them on their site: Therefore you should always include a Call to Action for example "Check out", " Click here" “Visit our store” or mention any discounts or promotions e.g. “10% Off Now”.
  • Where discounts are for a limited time, you can add end dates in the ‘Ads Manager’. Please ensure you also have some ‘evergreen’ ad content and replace seasonal content with up to date banners if you decide to run limited time campaigns.
  • We recommend the following dimensions (in pixels) for image ads:
    750x200; 300x600; 300x250. However, you can upload any of the IAB formats mentioned here as either JPG, GIF, PNG files.
